Whitney Houston and Dana Bash

Whitney Elizabeth Houston is the youngest of four children born in Newark the state of New Jersey, on August 9 in 1963. Her parents are gospel singer Cissy Houston - born Emily Lee Drinkard - and John Russell Houston Jr. Whitney's cousin Dionne Warwick was also famous for her singing. Whitney's mother and her began to sing professionally together at New Hope Baptist Church, Newark at the age of 15 years old. The two sang back vocals in Chaka Kans' 1978 hit Im Every Woman.
